Decades after his apprentice betrays him, a once joyful toy maker finds new hope when his bright young granddaughter appears on his doorstep.
What are the holidays without a good old fashioned Christmas movie? Trash, that’s what. Lucky for us, Netflix pumped out one of the best holiday musicals in years in the form of Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey. A Black-led, original Christmas movie with magic, music, heart, and soul. It captivated my family more than we expected and had my 4-year-old daughter asking to watch it again. We caught her watching it alone the next day. The movie is so powerful it overcame a 4-year-old’s rampant lack of focus.
We celebrate Black Excellence and this movie has it in spades. From an all-star cast, amazingly choreographed musical numbers, a heartfelt story, and a wholly original idea. This film has it all. If you haven’t yet watched it, go snuggle up on the couch and dive it.
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey wins the Super. Black. Best of 2020 Black Excellence Award!
